Spanish tax residents need to submit their 2014 tax returns to their local tax offices or via the internet from the 23rd of April until the 30th of June 2014.

The Spanish government has been considering a suggestion to change the way that residences are treated for income tax purposes. The proposal would mean that a tax payers main residence would be taxed on a percentage of its cadastral value and this value would be treated as income. This is already the case when taxpayers own more than one property.
